Funding your wallet
How to get USDC and a little XLM onto Stellar — from an exchange, or bridged from another chain with Spield's built-in cross-chain bridge.
To deposit into Spield you need two things in your wallet:
- USDC — the asset you deposit. This is Circle's official USD-backed stablecoin, native on Stellar.
- A little XLM — Stellar's native asset, used to pay tiny network fees and a small one-time reserve. A fraction of an XLM is enough.
Development phase — live on testnet
USDC asset addresses
If you want to add the USDC asset to your wallet manually or verify you're holding the right token, these are the official addresses. Spield uses 7-decimal Stellar USDC on both networks.

Trying it out today?
Since Spield is live on testnet, you can experiment with test USDC — no real money needed. Switch your wallet to Stellar testnet, get free test USDC + XLM from a Stellar testnet faucet (or via Friendbot for XLM), and use the testnet address above. The full app works exactly as it will on mainnet.
Getting USDC onto Stellar
There are two easy paths. Pick whichever fits where your funds are now.
Many exchanges support withdrawing USDC directly on the Stellar network.
- On the exchange, choose to withdraw USDC.
- Select Stellar as the network (sometimes labelled "XLM network" or "Stellar Lumens").
- Paste your Stellar wallet address as the destination.
- Confirm and wait — Stellar settles in seconds.
You can buy a small amount of XLM the same way for fees.
Pick the Stellar network
When withdrawing, you must choose the Stellar network specifically. Sending USDC on the wrong network (e.g. Ethereum) won't arrive in your Stellar wallet.
If your USDC is on Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, Solana, or Tron, you can bring it over without an exchange using Spield's built-in cross-chain bridge (powered by Allbridge Core).
- Open the Bridge page in the Spield app.
- Choose the source chain and connect that chain's wallet.
- Enter the amount of USDC, review the quote, and confirm.
- Your USDC arrives as native Stellar USDC, ready to deposit.

The bridge only moves funds to Stellar. Once your USDC is here, everything Spield does is fully native — there's no ongoing bridge dependency on your position.
A note on trustlines (it's automatic)
On Stellar, before an account can hold a particular asset it establishes a one-time trustline to it. For USDC this usually happens when you first receive it. For Spield's own tokens (PT and YT), the app sets up the needed trustlines for you with a single "Enable trustline" click the first time you deposit — you don't have to do anything manual.

How much should I start with?
There's no minimum beyond covering fees. A sensible first run:
