Quick overview
A 3-step path from zero to your first Spield position — connect a wallet, fund it with USDC, and choose a product.
Getting started with Spield takes three steps. This page is the map; each step has its own short guide.
Development phase — live on testnet
Connect a wallet
Spield is used through a Stellar wallet browser extension. Connect it once and the app remembers you. → Connect a wallet
Fund your wallet with USDC
You deposit USDC into Spield. Get it onto Stellar from an exchange, or bring it from another chain with the built-in bridge. → Funding your wallet
Make your first deposit
Pick what you want — a fixed return, leveraged yield, or to provide liquidity — and deposit. The first time, you'll click Enable trustline once (see Trustlines), then deposit. → Your first deposit
What you'll need
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| A Stellar wallet | A browser extension like Freighter (see the full list). |
| A little XLM | Stellar's native asset, used for tiny network fees. A fraction of an XLM is plenty. |
| Some USDC | The asset you deposit. Start with any amount you're comfortable with. |
New to Stellar wallets?
A wallet is just a browser extension that holds your keys and signs transactions. It's free, takes a minute to set up, and Spield never sees your secret key — you approve every action yourself.
Pick your path
Not sure which product is for you? Here's the quick version:
I want a guaranteed return
Use the Fixed-Rate Vault or buy PT — lock a known APY for a known term.
I want leveraged yield
Buy YT — cheap, amplified exposure to the rate.
I want to earn fees
Provide liquidity to the market and collect swap fees.
I just want to understand it first
Read how the protocol works before depositing anything.
Use what you can afford to experiment with
Spield is a young protocol. As with any DeFi product, only deposit what you're comfortable putting at risk, and read Understanding the risks first.
